Here’s what’s happening this week on the Milton-Madison Bridge Project:
- Tuesday, workers completed the third and final concrete pour on the new bridge deck. The deck will cure over the next seven days.
- In preparation for switching traffic from the current bridge to the new span, finishing touches are being put on the barge impact frames on the temporary piers. The traffic switch is expected to take place next month.
- Bridge sidewalk construction is complete in Milton and continues in Madison.
- Four peregrine falcon chicks that hatched in a nesting box on one of the bridge piers will be banded this week by the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources. The chicks are expected to leave the nest in mid-June.
